Welcome to the new-look Notices section. Instead of individual notices that are replaced when we add the next item, we’ll be simply adding them to the noticeboard so they stay visible for longer. Off we go, then.

  • We’ve found a set of wheels left behind at Decoy. drop us an email and we’ll re-unite you with them.
  • The draw time for the Hamsey match on the 12th July will be 10.00am for an 11.00am start until the finish at 4.00pm.
  • Oldmans lake will be closed for the day on Saturday July 4th for some essential tree maintenance. Thanks for your understanding.
  • The track down to Wildings is now open so you can drive down and park at the bottom. In addition the causeway has been repaired and the water levels are back up to where they should be.
  • Members trying to fish at Oldmans are still going down a private road and the owner is understandably not happy. To find the entrance make sure you drive down Common Lane until you see a sign by a large gate right next to the road that says Averys Oak Farm. That’s the entrance. And please don’t park by the containers. There’s plenty of space elsewhere. Thanks!
  • The track down to the lake at Wilding is still closed. Although the track looks passable, if the gates are closed, please park at the top and walk down. Remember, it’s not whether you think you can get your car down and back up, it’s the damage you vehicle will do to the track itself. We’ll let you know when the track down re-opens
  • Same with the track at Oldmans. Be prepared to park in the designated parking area and walk down to the lake. If the track is open, the signs will say so. Thanks!
  • The maintenance crew keep finding braided hook lengths caught in trees or strung up in bushes, especially at Wildings. A reminder that no braided hooklinks OR Bolt Rigs are allowed on company waters. Bailiffs will begin asking you to reel in from time to time to check your end tackle.
  • Jean Fisher, the Membership Secretary, has a new email address – it’s hassocksangling@gmail.com. Please use this to contact her from now on.
  • If you fish More House Farm, the procedure for getting into the fishery has changed. Please watch the video on the More House Farm Facebook page here.
  • Again we have to remind you to ALWAYS PADLOCK GATES WHEN YOU LEAVE a fishery.
  • If you find a broken lock at one of our fisheries, please call Roy Fisher on 01444 235978 so he can replace it. Padlocks are the best way of keeping out poachers, so help us out by letting us know if one’s broken. And always lock the padlock again when you leave. Thanks!
  • After consideration we’ve decided to re-instate the Parking Permit and these have been emailed to all members. Please check the Spam/Junk folder of your email program if you haven’t received yours. These should be displayed on your car dashboard whenever you fish a club water. Just right click on the permit image with your mouse and then save it. You can now print it out in colour or black and white – either version is fine. Thanks!
  • Can we remind all disabled anglers using Decoy that they must shut and lock the barrier when leaving the car park. Thanks!
  • Please note that we no longer have access to the stretch of the Adur upstream of Wineham bridge. The landowner is selling the land.
  • “Magic Twig’ rig – this new carp rig is currently not permitted for use on any Hassocks water until we’ve had a chance to evaluate its safety properly. Please don’t use it – there are plenty of other ways to catch a carp!
