Match Overview

Kevin Tree fishing for Hassocks was not happy when peg 32 stuck to his hand at the draw but by the end of the match he had changed his mind. He won convincingly fishing mainly the method feeder and wafters for 90-2-0 he also lost some good Carp on the pole down the margin near the pads otherwise the margin would have been even larger. Dave Morris also representing Hassocks managed just under 73-0-0 for second from peg 11 he also had the biggest fish of the day which weighed 12-8-0. He caught on the method feeder, the pellet waggler and later the pole with paste down the edge. John Stepton made it a clean sweep for Hassocks with a level 67-0-0 after being knocked back by just under 6-0-0 for being over the net limit from peg 7, but he would still have been a couple of ounces behind Dave. He also fished with the method feeder and pole but lost numerous Carp which might have made for a closer finish. Hassocks came out on top by just over 200-0-0 on the day but I am sure Pulborough will reverse the result in the return leg at the beginning of next month.
