Match Overview

The first match of the winter O.A.P. series was held at Piddinghoe boating lake against Seaford. The match was a points match with silver fish and Carp separated into two sections. Top on the day was Steve Tasker fishing for Seaford who landed ten Carp for just over 24-0-0 and ten skimmers and some small silver fish just over 8-0-0 for 32-15-0 on the cage feeder and worm. Runner up Grenville Weston also fishing for Seaford was on the next peg had 10-0-0 of silver fish backed up with 8-8-0 of small Carp also on the feeder for his 18-8-0, There was a tie for third on points between Jason Welfare from Seaford and Steve Pead from Hassocks. Jason had three small Carp for 7-8-0 and six skimmers for just over 5-8-0 for his 13-2-0 whilst Steve Pead had seven small Carp for 11-8-0 and two skimmers and some silvers for just under 4-8-0 for his 15-14-0, both were fishing the cage feeder and worms. On the day Seaford easily came out on top by nearly 30-0-0 but the best fish of the day went to Les Hickman with a 12-0-0 Carp which made him second on weight on the day.
