Match Overview
Sadly just 3 anglers took part in the 5th round of the winter series.
A dry and overcast day with light breezes saw no carp landed but plenty of small silvers were caught if targeted. Winner on the day was Nigel Jackson with a nice pair of large skimmer bream together with a decent tench and lots of smaller roach. Nigel fished a single line on the pole at 10m with double maggot bait. David Harper was runner up with 3 skimmer bream and lots of small rudd and roach. Two skimmers fell to small bandum bait on a small hybrid method feeder. The third was taken on the pole at 6 metres. The rudd and roach also fell on the 6 m line but also on an alternative 13m line with bites started to slow mid match. Ted targeted carp but only had one small fish indication during the day. Carp were spotted rolling on the far bank of the bowl.
Please be aware of the serious condition of the Wildings causeway and please keep checking on the website for details . The known problem of erosion on the exit pipe has been made much worse with the causeway bank undermined and recent soil dropping nearly 8 feet into the lower lake. Please DO NOT attempt to take a barrow across the causeway anymore.
