Match Overview

The first match of the season at Masons was a interclub match with Billingshurst and also the Turner Cup – unfortunately the Carp were not interested in feeding and the silver fish disappeared for most within the first hour of the match. The car park bank produced the top two with Mick Fuller fishing for Billingshurst just edging out Lew Nightingale by just over half a pound. He picked up two Carp and a four-ounce Rudd for 11-5-0 all on the method feeder and wafters. Lew had a Carp of just under six pounds and about ten decent Roach all also on the method feeder and mini pink wafters for 10-12-0 which made him the victor of the Turner Cup Third was Hugh Neatherway fishing the first peg round from the weir he managed 6-11-0 of Rudd and Roach fishing the waggler and maggots. Hassocks came out on top by just under five pounds counting the top three from each team.
