Match Overview

Eight anglers took part in the first Sunday match of the season – there was a new face at this match which was good to see as it was a twelve-year-old local lad named Seth Sawyer. He showed some of the old timers how to do it by finishing fourth (not bad for his first match), so now there is nearly eighty years between the youngest and oldest competitors. Winner on the day was Keith Huggins from peg nine with six Carp, three on the pole and three on the feeder for 26-4-0 he then backed this up with a decent net of silvers weighing 12-8-0 which included some good-sized Skimmers and Crucians for his 38-12-0. Runner up was Dave Franks on peg twenty-six with four Carp on the pole with the biggest one ounce shy of  10-0-0 for a combined Carp weight of 29-13-0 also backed up with 5-10-0 of Skimmers for a combined total of 35-7-0. Third was Steve Pead on peg five who had four Carp, two on the bomb with bread and two on the method with pellet. Backed up with 2-9-0 of silvers on waggler shallow for his 20-15-0.
