Match Overview

A fine day at last on a Sunday saw seven anglers have a better day than anticipated considering the frosty start. Steve Pead came out on top of the final leg of the Decoy Cup series, drawing peg 30 he fished the bomb and bread all day to pick up ten Carp for a very respectable 41-2-0 just edging out Dave Larby on peg one who fished the method feeder and wafters for eight Carp and 40-13-0 which normally would have been enough to win at this time of year. Third was Ted Odell who yet again drew peg fifteen and managed four decent Carp on the pole and wafters into the corner for his 26-14-0, he fished the pole straight to the float without elastic to bring them under control which was a surprise to the other competitors who thought that he would suffer a broken pole section or two. The Decoy Cup was won by defending champion Keith Huggins with 27 points from his best three of four results, the Benevolent Cup went to Steve Pead.
