Match Overview

12 anglers took part in the hot sun following the record breaking heatwave of the last two days, a strong warm breeze made pole and float  fishing tricky on some pegs.

For the benefit of fish welfare a mid-day weigh in was completed and fish returned. Water levels are notably down. End pegs favoured anglers.

Congratulations to Colin Ryall with his 22lb catch of carp and silvers from peg 36, and facing him on peg 1 runner up Mick Burkett had 17lb 12oz of carp. In third place Keith Huggins with 14lb caught some of his fish on a pellet wangler. Lew Nightingale had a noteworthy 1lb 8oz crucian.

We’ll never know what leviathan Steve Pead hooked on peg 15, but it managed to tow his rod and reel into the lake and probably prevented him being placed!! Please note the change in venue for the next two matches.
