Maintenance Update
As you may be aware maintenance, bailiffing and general management of waters has been split between two teams, Tony Elkins and his team are looking after George Cragg, Badgers Wood, Electricity pond and the rivers at Wineham and Cemetery Wood. Decoy, Wildings and Masons being dealt with by a team lead by Nigel Jackson If you have any questions or concerns about any of these waters please let the relevant person know.
Unfortunately the dam at Wildings is still in a precarious state although we can confirm that a strimming session is planned in the near future. There is a lot of work going on at Decoy and Nigel is always on the lookout for help so if you can assist please contact him.
The weeds in George Cragg seem to need removing every six weeks or so but when the sun is out it isn’t bad paddling around in the water pulling out lilies etc. Far more work for those on the bank who have to take it all away.
The thing is, that is what the tench seem to like and if you fish with the correct gear good sport is available. The larger tench do not appear to be showing unless members are being secretive but there are plenty up to 4lb
Annual General Meeting
The AGM this year will be held at the Kings Centre 33-35, Victoria Rd, Burgess Hill RH15 9LR on Friday 1 November. Start time will be 7pm and as we have the room until 9pm time is of the essence. Refreshments will be provided.
In the past we have printed off a number of copies of the Member’s reports etc but we always print off far too many on the basis that 30 to 40 people will attend the meeting. As this is wildly optimistic most get thrown away. To save paper etc this year we will be adding the following documents to the website for attendees to download and print off
- Minutes of October 2023 AGM
- Minutes of March 2024 EGM
- Agenda and Officers Reports
- Profit and Loss statement
We would stress that the documents are not yet available but once all have been collated an invitation to the AGM will be sent to all members together with a note as to how to access the documents.
The 100 Club
June was won by Andy Grove and July by Owain Jones The draws for August and September will be made at our next Committee meeting on 20 September.
