Match Overview

Considering the weather with hottest day of the year so far Wildings fished surprisingly well and for the second year running Ted Odell opened the new O.A.P. summer series at Wildings with a victory. He drew peg 12 initially but felt unsafe due to the bank being undercut and sloping towards the lake so he asked to fish peg 11 as an alternative. He made full use of the new peg landing a skimmer of 2-10-0 and a Carp of 13-5-0 for his 15-15-0 fishing the feeder and red wafter, he also lost another Carp to a broken hook length trying to stop the fish getting to a snag. Kevin Tree was drawn next to Ted and managed second from peg 10, he fished method feeder and various wafters for a good net of skimmers for 10-13-0 with bites drying up during the afternoon. Lew Nightingale made the frame with a similar net of fish to Kevin but unfortunately his swim died earlier seeing him fall short with 8-10-0, he also fished the method feeder and wafters.
