Match Overview

The penultimate O.A.P. winter series match had 10 fishing Canal at More House Farm on the warmest day of this year so far. Keith Huggins managed to draw the peg that the others all wanted, peg 2, and with the wind blowing down to that end he made the most of it. He caught well from the start fishing the method feeder and wafters before it slowed down. Changing to the pole and fishing long also down the edge, he only managed to pick up one Carp but resting the feeder line worked as he started to catch again and finished well – he weighed in eighteen Carp for 58-11-0. Runner up from peg 18 was Tony Morris with nine Carp and a decent skimmer for 46-3-0, his fish were a better size, and he had five on the method feeder and wafters and four on the pole and maggots. Norman Cragg came third from peg 14 fishing the method feeder all day with maggots for eight Carp for 36-15-0.
