The first leg of the Victory Cup had three anglers taking part, it was also the latest interclub match against Haywards Heath. Top on the day was Steve Pead who fished the waggler swapping between punched bread, pinkies and single red maggot to keep the bites going all day for a net of silvers for his winning 2-5-0. Runner up Hugh Neatherway managed a similar net of silvers with one net Roach fishing the pole and the stick float with maggots for just under 2-0-0. Third went to Rowland Smith who was representing Haywards Heath, he also fished the stick float and maggots to catch a large number of tiny Gudgeon and small Roach for his 1-3-0.
