Match Overview

The latest interclub match had twelve anglers, eight from Billingshurst and four from Hassocks. Billingshurst came out on top by just under six pounds after comparing the top four from each club despite Hassocks providing second and third. Top on the day was Billingshurst man Reg Beagley who drew fancied peg two, he managed four decent Bream and a nice Chub giving him 22-13-0. Second was Hugh Neatherway who had one Bream fewer than Reg but also had a decent Chub of 2-8-0 along with his three Bream – one of which was just over 5-8-0 in his 16 2 0; he caught his bigger fish on feeder with worm. Third was Steve Pead who started on the pole and the waggler but after getting bitted out for just over half the match changed to cage feeder and worm over chopped worm to pick up two good Bream and some reasonable Perch for just under 11-0-0.
