Match Overview

A early start saw seven anglers contesting the first leg of the Willey Challenge Cup on a warm humid day, when after a promising start with everyone catching for an hour, the bites started to dry up. Except for Norman Cragg who managed to keep his swim going all day, he almost doubled second place catching some reasonable Chublets and Roach fishing the waggler and maggots. Second was Steve Pead who suffered like most catching just five fish in the last five hours after a good start, fortunately one of the bites was from a Bream weighing 4-7-0 on a worm on the cage feeder helping him to 6 9 0, the rest were caught on the pole and maggots. Third was Roger Bulman who managed to catch for longer and caught 5-6-0 on the stick float and bronze maggots.
