Match Overview

On a sunny day five anglers took part in the latest round of the O.A.P. summer series at Badgers Wood, which has not been fishing well as of late and unfortunately today was no different. Top on the day was Nigel Jackson on peg 12 with 5-7-0 which mainly consisted of a 3-15-0 Tench caught on caster fished to the pads backed up with small Roach and Perch. Second was Norman Cragg on peg 9 who had the most fish with some better sized Roach for his 4-9-0 using the pole with single white maggot at five metres. Third was Steve Pead on peg 5 who had a 2-2-0 Tench on worm to back up his net of small Roach and Perch on pole and red maggot. There seems to have been an explosion of very small Perch this year which makes fishing with worm or maggots difficult as they are a nuisance.
