Match Overview
Following strong overnight wind and heavy rain , five anglers found conditions had settled considerably and the rain / drizzle did eventually stop by late lunch. This match was the 10th round of the SNRS winter league and water levels were approximately 3 feet down from normal winter levels.
Most anglers adopted a feeder approach from the start, and two early bream fell to David and Kevin , however after some time Steve and then Nigel had both started to catch steadily on pole lines in about 2 1/2 ft of water; unfortunately the stamp of roach was very small.
Kevin then went on to catch a second decent bream to win with 5lb 8oz using his hybrid and band hook bait . David continued using a small cage feeder and dead reds caught a second small skimmer and a tiny roach to come second with 2lb 2oz. Nigel’s switch from feeder to pole caught steady roach and helped him gain third place with 2lb.
Top points after 10 rounds is Steve with 58 points, Nigel with 54 points and Kevin with 52 points. The winner will be determined by the best 9 results from the 12 matches.
