Match Overview

Nine anglers turned out for the latest interclub match which proved to be a chilly event as it was the first frost of the winter this year. The top weight was Keith Huggins fishing for Hassocks with a very good net of mixed silvers for 19-3-0. He also lost a Carp which took him to the other side of the lake on the pole, he alternated between maggots and caster on the hook. Second was Andy Leader on the next peg who managed 8-3-0 of silvers also on the pole with maggots fishing for Haywards Heath; third went to Darren Chilcott also fishing for Haywards Heath with 7-13-0 of silvers on pole and waggler. The lake fished hard in the shallower pegs at the top end but overall the weights were better than expected given the sudden overnight drop in temperature. On the day Hassocks came out on top mainly due to Keith’s net winning by nearly 14-0-0.
