Match Overview
The first leg of the senior winter league had to be hastily rearranged due to the late cancellation by Seaford, as Piddinghoe boating lake still has a keepnet ban and an alternate venue could not be found, so the match was moved to Decoy without Seaford taking part. The match was split into two halves with a mid-match weigh in and a thirty-pound net limit. Despite the very wet and slightly colder conditions the fishing was very good for the majority with Kevin Tree putting a good performance from peg 13 landing 52-13-0 in the first half of the match which included a Carp weighing 17-10-0. He then went on to land a further 44-1-0 in the second half losing five large Carp to broken hook lengths and hook pulls, with sixteen Carp and two skimmers he took 100-2-0 to the scales all caught on the method feeder and various colours of wafters. Second from peg 7 was Keith Huggins, he weighed in just over 19-0-0 with four Carp in the first half on the method feeder before turning to the pole down the edge in the second half with paste and also pellets, his next two Carp were both doubles and he added another three decent fish for and second weight of 45-12-0, he also managed 12-12-0 of skimmers for a total weight of 77-9-0. Third was Steve Pead who had ten Carp on the day all on the method feeder and various wafters for 44-1-0.
