Match Overview
The second leg of the Charlie Skinner Cup was contested by six anglers who braved cardiac hill. Coming out on top for the day was Nigel Jackson who was disappointed with number four at the draw bag, as it was the weir swim and there were no reeds to fish to. He stayed with his paste approach to his left to the tree and had an early Carp. He fished paste for most of the match and finished with nine Carp and one six-ounce Rudd for 53-1-0 and an easy win. Second on peg eight went to Mickey Wells fishing with meat next to the reeds with the pole. He caught in the second half of the match, finishing with six Carp and two reasonable Rudd for 20-10-0. He lost eight Carp and numerous hook lengths to fish he just could not stop which could have made a difference to the result. Steve Pead finished third on next door peg seven with a nice net of Rudd and Roach for 8-11-0 on the whip and the waggler. On the final whistle he managed a Carp of 7-8-0 on the pole and meat which when added to a small Carp caught on the whip gave him 16-12-0. Tim Brightey won the cup with his ten points from the first leg on weight.
