Match Overview

Three anglers took part in the first and very stormy match for the summer series, but periods of sunshine did improve the spirits despite the odd heavy shower. Plenty of colour in the water and a choppy surface encouraged fish to feed. Winner Lew Nightingale picked up a nice bag of bream, skimmers and roach taken on wafter with pellets and ground bait, picking them from a few spots along the far bank.

Runner up David had three large skimmers, a nice perch and some plump roach, two skimmers caught on dead reds and corm using a cage feeder with dark ground bait laced with pinkie and caster, the third falling to a whip line along with a dozen roach. A carp was hooked on a small method feeder with wafter and pellet and played for 10 minutes before a hook length gave way. Despite the wind, Steve caught steadily on pole and also had a large fish break off.

Please note:– the top car park has been partially cleared of building materials now and the track is still closed due to ground conditions and the access gate being relocated.
