Match Overview

Eleven turned out on a chillier day for the first match of the winter series at Stanbridge View and the change in temperature seemed to influence the fishing. Coming out on top from peg three was Norman Cragg, who fished the feeder for most of the match with wafters and weighed in just under 75-0-0 edging out Nigel Jackson who was on favoured end peg eleven. Nigel fished his usual pole and paste, and finished one fish behind Norman, which he lost on the final whistle. He took just under 70-0-0 to the scales, but he did have the biggest fish on the day weighing 15-12-0 which was foul hooked in the tail. Cliff Prophett filled the top three with 65-11-0 mostly caught on the feeder and bread. A special mention goes to junior Joshua Morris who took part in his first senior competition and showed some of the seniors how it was done, including his dad weighing in a creditable 27-14-0 all unaided.
