Hassocks overturned a 3-1-0 deficit from the first leg to retain the Dick Herrington Cup with a lot of help from Lew Nightingale who landed seven Carp from peg seven on method feeder and sweetcorn for 34-4-0 and a comfortable victory. Second was Dave Franks fishing for Haywards Heath from peg nine, he managed four Carp on the pole with wafters in a snag pit of a swim losing as many as he landed for his 18-14-0. Third was a former junior member for Hassocks, Ben Cook from end peg ten he caught two Carp on worm for 16-11-0 including the largest fish of the day, just under 10-0-0. The winner of the Herbert Cup with eighteen points over the two legs and defending his title was Dave Franks.
