On a lovely evening, the first leg of the Rose Bowl was attended by eight anglers and it was Nigel Jackson who led the way from unfancied peg 15 landing five Tench all caught on worm on the pole down the margins for his 11-10-0 the largest weighing  4-4-0. Runner up was Rowland Smith from popular peg 3 also landing two tench on worm in the margins. Third went to Ted Odell with another pair of Tench for 5-1-0, the second round of the Rose Bowl is in a fortnight’s time at Wildings.
