Match Overview

The second round of the Herbert Cup saw seven anglers taking part and on a blustery day Dave Franks drew the same peg that he had won from on the previous match. He duly did the same by landing four Carp, three on the feeder with wafters and one on the pole and double sweet corn for 26-13-0 backed up with just over 2-0-0 of silvers on the waggler for his 28-14-0 total. Two of his Carp weighed 9-15-0 and 9-12-0 which meant he won the Cup over the two legs. Runner up Steve Pead fished mainly with the whip and double maggots for a level 14-0-0 which consisted of approximately three hundred Rudd and Roach and made him runner-up in the cup Third was Nigel Jackson who fished the pole all day for Carp with paste without success, so with the last hour remaining he turned to his silver fish rig and worm as bait and managed to hook and land a 7-8-0 Carp with seconds to spare which boosted his weight to 10-1-0.
