Match Overview
On a low clear river, the weights were expected to be low. No one failed to catch something, but top on the day, fishing for Hassocks, was Steve Pead with 6-5-0 all caught on pole landing a bonus Tench of 4-7-0, fishing worm over chopped worm. He actually hooked the fish twice, losing it the first time but catching it 15 minutes later and removing his first hook at the end of the match. Second on the day, also fishing for Hassocks, was Norman Cragg with 2-9-0 of small Roach and Rudd on pole and maggot. Only two ounces behind and tying for third were father and son Kevin and Chris Reed both fishing for Henfield with 2-7-0 fishing the pole with maggots. On the day Hassocks came out on top winning by 1-1-0 totalling 11-12-0 against Henfield’s 10-11-0 in a very enjoyable match.
