River Adur - Wineham

Brief description of fishery:

A stretch of the upper Adur below Wineham Lane bridge, this water has all the usual river species – most notably some very good Pike have been caught below the bridge.
Please note:
  • We no longer have access to the stretch of the river upstream of Wineham Bridge, so members cannot fish there.
  • Although this river looks placid, in places it is deep and after rain can be very deep indeed – exceeding two metres. The banks are quite high and steep in places and there is a risk of flooding
  • All rivers are closed for coarse fishing from 15 March through to the 15 June inclusive

NIGHT FISHING: Night fishing is permitted – please follow the rules at the top of the Our Waters page.

Location & Access

There are two parking areas. A lay-by close to the bridge on Wineham Lane and a second for the downstream stretch in Fryland Lane, about 400 yards on the left after turning in off Wineham Lane. This second parking area can get muddy.

Access to all parts of the river is across fields. There is a padlock on the gates downstream of Wineham bridge in Frylands lane – see the back of your membership card for the PIN number.
