River Adur - Cemetery Wood

Brief description of fishery:

A short stretch of the upper Adur from below Sakeham Sluice to Cemetery Wood, this water has all the usual river species including some good Pike and Bream. There are some very deep holes in this stretch as well. All rivers are closed for coarse fishing from 15 March through to the 15 June inclusive.

NIGHT FISHING: Night fishing is permitted – please follow the rules at the top of the Our Waters page.

Location & Access

Access to all parts of the river is across fields – the main entrance gate is padlocked (see the back of your membership card for the PIN number). There is a bridge across the old mill stream for the former mill at Shermanbury Place, which has recently been re-built and is wide enough for a trolley.

The banks are quite high and steep in places. Risk of flooding. The field down to the river is also quite steep and very slippery in the wet.
