George Cragg Pond

Brief description of fishery:

Located on Hickstead Lane, this fishery underwent major work during 2007-2008. The pond has been increased in size by about 1/3rd and the depth has been taken to a maximum of 13ft; the pond has plenty of cover in the form of reeds and lilies. With 10 purpose built swims, including one that is suitable for wheelchair users, anglers have plenty of room. Stocked with Tench, Golden Tench, Crucian Carp and as a control species Perch, the fishery is a popular venue.

NIGHT FISHING: Night fishing is permitted – please follow the rules at the top of the Our Waters page.

Location & Access

George Cragg Pond has parking right by the pond, and very good access – there’s an all-weather path all the way round, although things get a little bumpy on the far side. There is a padlock on the main gate (see the back of your membership card for the PIN number).

Please note: there is a height barrier of two metres at the front gate.
