Match Overview

The final match of the season saw seven anglers take on the dreaded hill. With 25 five minutes left Lew Nightingale was facing a blank, but patience and belief that the Carp would turn up paid off. He landed four Carp in quick succession on the method feeder and orange wafter fishing tight to the rushes to his right whilst holding on to his rod to register 17-7-0 to romp to victory. Colin Ryall from the next peg could only watch as he was easily beaten into second; he had two early Carp on the method feeder and pink wafters and some small Roach and Rudd for 8-10-0. Third was Darren Chillcott who was on the dam and he caught a much better stamp of Rudd and Roach for a level 5-0-0 on the waggler and maggots, but he also lost a good Carp on the pole down the edge after playing it for several minutes to a hook pull which would have altered to final placings.
