Match Overview
There was a good turnout for the Benevolent Cup with twelve taking part on a frosty sunny day. The fishing was expected to be hard due to the weather we have had recently, and that was how it turned out. Lew Nightingale came out on top landing two Carp from his two bites of the day, the last one he landed just after the final whistle which gave him the title weighed just over 8-0-0. He had both on the bomb, the first on a white mini boilie and the last on a orange wafter. Cliff Proffit came second with a early Carp of 6-0-0 on bomb and bread and a skimmer later on also on the bomb for 7-4-0 from his two bites. Third was Colin Ryall who fished with the pole later in the match to target some silver fish and managed 37 small Roach and a bonus small Carp of 2-0-0 on maggots and pinkies on a twenty two hook to finish with 5-4-0.
