Match Overview

For the second match in a row double figure Carp have dominated the result with Steve Pead benefiting, managing to land two for a combined total of 26-14-0 from end peg 20. He had the first one after two hours of the match on cage feeder and worm, the second arrived two minutes from the end on the method feeder and wafter and weighed 14-4-0 which when added to his solitary Roach gave him 26-14-0 and the Society Cup. Ever young Ted Odell took second with a skimmer of 2-2-0 and a Carp of 8-6-0 mid way through the match, on the method feeder and wafters from peg 16. Lew Nightingale fishing peg 10 had one bite on the day, but that resulted in the smallest Carp of the day at 6-9-0 also caught on the method feeder. Unfortunately, the silver fish were thin on the ground but the water temperature was a lot colder than the previous match, but several skimmers did put in an appearance.
