Match Overview

On a cooler day of late there was a very good turnout for the second leg of the Decoy Cup with 15 anglers keen to see if the recent good weights would continue, and despite the number of anglers Decoy did not disappoint. Due to the ongoing work to the causeway the match was spread out down both sides with alternate pegs being used. Top on the day was Kevin Tree from peg twenty-eight catching on bomb and pellet early on before turning too method feeder and wafters and finally finishing on the pole and paste for his winning 63-8-0. He also unfortunately lost six good Carp in the last hour with one taking his elastic out to the pads in the middle before the hook pulled resulting in his rig firing back and striking him in the neck – fortunately not too much harm done other than a bruised and scratched neck. Second went to Nigel Jackson on peg five who had 59-4-0 on the pole at ten metres on his usual paste before fishing the margins which unusually did not produce. Third went to Andy Leader who drew fancied peg one and he fished the long pole at sixteen metres to land 50-9-0 which is not easy over a six-hour match.
