Match Overview
A dozen anglers took part in the Benevolent Cup match on what turned out to be a cold and cloudy day, with strong breezes blowing from the north-east. A few carp and roach were feeding, but in pockets around the lake.
Winner of this year’s cup was Lew Nightingale with several nice carp for 19lbs 4oz from the sheltered peg 36; runner up was Les Hickman with the largest carp of the day at 11lbs 9oz caught near the end of the match (sadly for him, he lost another a few minutes later); Les Hammond came third with a nice catch of roach.
