Match Overview

On a very warm day there was a poor turnout for this years Robin Wallis memorial match with only six in attendance. Three Carp were caught and Eddie Ovenden had one of them very early on from peg 16, it was just over 9-8-0 which he had on the method feeder and single maggot. He backed it up with four skimmers and a 2-2-0 Tench and some mixed silvers for a total of 18-9-0 for a comfortable victory and winning the memorial shield. Second was Steve Pead from peg 14 who also landed a Carp just under 10-0-0 also on the method feeder and maggots when added to his net of small silver fish and one skimmer giving him 13-3-0.  Keith Huggins landing the largest Carp of the day at 12-12-0 which secured him third place with his total of 12-15-0 from peg 20 which could have been more if he had not lost two Carp late on from a tight swim.
