Match Overview

Everyone had a good day’s fishing on the second leg of the Wiley Challenge Cup at Hamsey with all eight taking part having bites all day. Coming out on top for the second time was Norman Cragg who fished the waggler all match with maggots, feeding a kilo of ground bait, a pint of maggots and two pints of hemp. He weighed in just under 15-0-0 which consisted of some decent Roach and a mixed net of Chublets and Dace. Runner up yet again was Darren Chilcott who fished the pole and the waggler for a similar mixed net of silvers for his 13-4-0 he also fed quite heavily getting through two pints of maggots. Falling just a few ounces short in third place was Steve Pead with just under 13-0-0 all on the pole with maggots. He did not loose feed at all and relied on ground bait to keep them on the bottom, unfortunately he lost a decent fish in the last ten minutes when his hook trace broke. Norman has a two-point lead over Darren with one more leg to go.
