Match Overview

Only four braved the stormy weather for the fourth and final leg of the Decoy Cup. Despite the windy conditions the top three all had over 30-0-0 each with Nigel Jackson coming out on top in yet another close match, he landed eight Carp all in the method feeder and wafters for his winning 37-8-0 from peg nine casting to the pads, he landed his final fish on the whistle. Second on peg one was Lew Nightingale who managed seven Carp all on the bomb and punched bread falling one fish short for 33-6-0 rueing being broken at the net by a lump. Third went to Steve Pead on the opposite bank peg thirty, he also had eight Carp starting on the bomb and bread before switching to method feeder and orange wafters for 31-4-0.

On the day twenty-eight Carp were landed which considering the weather was a good return for those taking part. The winner of the Decoy Cup for the third-year running was Keith Huggins with a twenty six points total for his best three of four matches, Steve Pead finished second a further three points adrift.
