Hassocks have taken a slender lead in the Dick Herrington Cup of just over four and a half pounds. The top three on the day were only separated by ten ounces with Les Hickman coming out on top with 9-15-0 fishing for Hassocks. He fished the waggler and maggots for a nice net of Roach and a Perch, runner up Keith Huggins, also fishing for Hassocks, was only six ounces behind with 9-9-0 also using waggler but with mainly caster for a better stamp of Roach, he was plagued by Pike for most of the day which effected his final weight as he had several fish taken. Third was Dave Franks a further 4 ounces behind on 9-5-0 who fished the waggler and the pole with maggot, he was representing Haywards Heath on the day.
