Match Overview

The weather was better for the five anglers taking part today for the second leg of the Herbert Cup and the silver fish were feeding better than a couple of weeks ago. Dave Harper on peg one, the first swim over the weir, had a fabulous day fishing the whip with maggot and feeding pinkies landing over 230 Rudd and Roach with several quality fish for a easy victory taking 19-1-0 to the scales. Second was Dave Franks on peg three fishing pole and alternating between worm and maggot for 7-3-0 which included a small Carp of 12 ounces, which is an encouraging sign that the Carp are breeding. Third was our elder statesman Ted Odell, 92 years young and still managing to beat the rest of us back up the hill, he landed two Carp and was broken up by another for 6-6-0 on method feeder and wafters. The winner of the cup over the two legs went to Rowland Smith with 13 points one ahead of Steve Pead.
