Match Overview

The extended wet weather continued with heavy early rain greeting anglers arriving at Wildings. Due to nearby flooding, the lake levels had been dropped by 18 inches to reduce water backing up upstream. The rain soon faded leaving gusty winds, but the sun shone for most of the rest of the day.

Kevin Tree won the match with a nice 7lb 4oz carp along with 3 good sized skimmer bream for a 10 lb 8oz, Kevin fished a method feeder with pellet and small bandum hookbait. David Harper had a steady match and came second with 7lb 9oz with 3 good sized skimmers and bream and 3 smaller “blade” skimmers and a few roach again on the feeder , 2 on a method and the rest on a small cage feeder set up, using bandum, worm and maggot hook baits. In third place was Ted O’Dell with a nice bream of 1lb 9oz.
